Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant named 'most hated' player in Oklahoma

· · 1 min read

After the Seattle SuperSonics were relocated following Kevin Durant’s rookie season, the former Texas Longhorn played with the Oklahoma City Thunder for eight seasons. There he won an MVP award, made one NBA Finals appearance in 2012 and fell one win short of another in 2016 before departing to the Golden State Warriors in free agency.

Now, almost 10 years since the move, it seems as though Thunder fans still haven’t forgotten about Durant’s unexpected departure. According to a hate map made by RotoWire, the current Houston Rockets forward was named one of the 11 most hated NBA players in the country. While Durant’s former teammate, Draymond Green, was named the most-hated in 16 of 50 states, Durant was named the most-hated in just one, Oklahoma. Entering his 19th season next fall and second with the Rockets, it appears that there’s no love lost between the two sides.
