Houston Astros select MTSU outfielder Owen Nowak in 2026 MLB Draft

Middle Tennessee State outfielder Owen Nowak was selected by the Houston Astros with the 361th pick in the 2026 MLB Draft on July 12.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Wisconsin native played one season with the Blue Raiders after two seasons at McHenry County Community College.

He had a big junior season for the Blue Raiders in 2026. In 57 games (all starts), he batted .318 with nine doubles, eight homers, 37 RBIs and eight stolen bases. He walked 36 times vs. just 11 strikeouts. He also committed no errors in the outfield.

Nowak was a second-team All-Conference USA selection after earning all-region in his two years in junior college.
