Hillary Clinton backs Elon Musk probe, offers prediction about Trump
Hillary Clinton on Monday called for an investigation of the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, over alleged interference in United States elections.
The former US Secretary of State appeared on ABC’s The View, where she discussed the November 3 midterm elections and political expectations.
“People like Elon Musk, we need a government, starting in January with a new Congress, to begin to hold these people accountable,” Clinton said.
The lawyer and diplomat declared that certain individuals cannot “get away with manipulating the data to try to influence decisions.”
The Democrat also predicted that President Donald Trump “is going to get even more out of control” if her party wins both the House and the Senate.
“I think he’s going to feel cornered,” Clinton told the panel. “I think he’s going to feel angry. I think he’s going to be lashing out.”
Musk donated around $290 million to support Republican candidates and causes during the 2024 US federal election, and has spent about $470 million this midterm cycle.
Upon his victory, Trump appointed the industrialist as a senior adviser, who co-led the Department of Government Efficiency, DOGE, which officially disbanded in July.
Speaking to Sean Hannity on the eve of the midterm elections, the President said the Democrats would “wipe out” everything his administration had done if they triumphed on Tuesday.
On the ongoing operation in the Middle East, the US leader described the $30 billion expended on the war with Iran as “peanuts,” adding that “This isn’t a war; this is a very soft war.”
The IRNA reported five explosions on Qeshm Island on Monday following limited strikes by the US military after Iranian forces reportedly fired at a US aircraft.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, IRGC, meanwhile, claimed that it intercepted and destroyed an American MQ-9 drone over the eastern Strait of Hormuz.
