“He Is Made of Glass,” “Eagles Fleeced Patriots”: NFL Fans React As “Washed” A.J. Brown Gets Added to Injury Report With New Concerning Issue
There were high expectations for A.J. Brown with the New England Patriots this season. The Philadelphia Eagles traded him back in June for a 2027 fifth-rounder and a 2028 first-rounder. However, the wide receiver’s debut in New England has been underwhelming.
So far, Brown has missed four games this season due to an injury. He was activated on Oct. 17 and has played in the last two games. However, another concerning update has emerged.
On Wednesday, after being listed on the injury report with a knee ailment, the Super Bowl LIX champion missed Thursday’s practice session with the Patriots.
Fans on social media shared their reactions to A.J. Brown’s latest injury concern.
“The Eagles fleeced them,” a fan said.
“Dude is made of glass.. Won’t be drafting again,” another fan wrote.
“We tried to tell you he was washed,” one fan commented.
Here are some more reactions:
In the team’s season-opening loss to the Seattle Seahawks, A.J. Brown suffered a high ankle sprain. He missed the next four games while rehabilitating. In three appearances, the three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver has caught nine passes for 101 yards and no touchdowns.
Patriots WR coach Todd Downing shares his thoughts on A.J. Brown
On Thursday, New England Patriots WR coach Todd Downing spoke with the media. While discussing A.J. Brown and his performance so far, Downing said that he has faith in the wide receiver despite his underwhelming showcase.
“It’s been a small sample size for A.J.,” Downing said. “I think there’s been a lot made about a couple of weeks. My hope, and his hope, and everybody hopes that he gets a little bit of traction.
“I’m not worried about where A.J. is at all. Certainly haven’t had the results that we had hoped for, but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t right around the corner.”
The Patriots will face the Miami Dolphins on Sunday at 4:25 PM ET. Last week’s 30-24 loss to the Chicago Bears ended their three-game winning streak.
