HBO's Hit 8-Part Series With Elijah Wood Returns With New Episodes In Just A Few Months

EXCLUSIVE: HBO’s I Love LA is officially returning for another season of industry-adjacent chaos, and viewers won’t have to wait much longer to see the series back on screen.

Rachel Sennott’s hit HBO series, which debuted in late 2025 with an 8-episode season that featured Elijah Wood in a hilariously exaggerated version of himself, was renewed for its second season during the first season’s run. While I Love LA season 2 has been in the works for some time, it hasn’t been clear when the next installment of the series would air, especially with the one-year window between seasons rapidly approaching. In an interview with ScreenRant’s Liam Crowley for Club Kid, however, Jordan Firstman shared what’s coming for the HBO hit.

When asked about I Love LA season 2, Firstman, who plays Charlie Cohen on the series, shared that production on the second series has recently wrapped, and that viewers can expect to see the series “early” next year. While there’s no definitive answer as to when I Love LA season 2 will premiere in 2027, knowing that it’s in the first half of the year provides a solid window for the return.

I Love LA’s second season is set to feature Sennott, Firstman, Odessa A’zion, True Whitaker, and Josh Hutcherson returning to the series, along with some exciting new faces in guest starring roles. Guest stars for I Love LA season 2 thus far include Taron Egerton, Jamie Chung, Benjamin Norris, Dylan Arnold, Jessy Hodges, and Milan Carter. With the show so heavily involved in Los Angeles culture, bringing familiar Hollywood faces into the mix sets the right tone for the series to continue building its own LA.

While Wood appeared in the fourth episode of I Love LA season 1, “Upstairses,” it hasn’t been confirmed if he’ll be rejoining the series in its second season. While Firstman confirmed that filming has wrapped and the show is set to premiere in the coming months, he didn’t share much else surrounding the series just yet. Even without confirmation of other guest stars, after seeing the roster of what’s to come and knowing who appeared in I Love LA season 1, it seems likely that viewers will be surprised by some of the faces that show up on the scene.

Though viewers will still have to wait for official confirmation of what’s to come for I Love LA season 2’s timeline, knowing that there are episodes on the way is the first step to the series’ exciting return.
