Hamilton West Side faces New England in Little League World Series | Live

Hamilton West Side faces a quick turnaround to avoid elimination on the big stage.

Representing Ohio and the Great Lakes in the Little League World Series, West Side will face New England champion Massachusetts at 3 p.m. on Aug. 22. The Elimination Bracket game comes just a day after West Side fell to Nevada in walk-off fashion, 6-5.

Both Ohio and Massachusetts lost in the first round, so today’s matchup is win-or-go-home. The last time West Side was in the World Series in 2021, they made a run through the Elimination Bracket all the way to the US finals.

Ohio and Massachusetts shared similar fates in round one

For the disinterested observer, the 2026 Little League World Series has been full of excitement. Through the first two days of the tournament there have already been two walk-off finishes. Unfortunately for Hamilton and Massachusetts, they found themselves on the wrong side of those dramatic endings.

Hamilton West Side weren’t held scoreless in the fifth and sixth innings as Nevada surged late. With two outs in the bottom of the sixth, Nevada hit a single that brought home the winning run from third base for a 6-5 win. Massachusetts lost to New Jersey in the first game of the tournament. Tied 1-1 in the bottom of the sixth, New Jersey delivered a powerful solo home run to advance in the Winners’ Bracket.
