Gov Mufwang, Tijani Win APC Tickets As Primaries Hold In Plateau, Adamawa

Chairman of the APC Governorship Primary Election Committee, Fidelis Mnyim, has declared incumbent governor Caleb Mutfwang the winner of the party’s governorship primary election in Plateau State.

Announcing the results at the end of the exercise, at the party office in Jos,  Mnyim said Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang polled a total of 233,335 votes to defeat his challenger, Commander Chief John Peter (Rtd.), who scored 3,070 votes.

“Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, having satisfied the requirements of the APC Constitution and guidelines, and having scored the highest number of valid votes cast, is hereby declared the winner of the primary election and returned elected as the APC governorship candidate for Plateau State,” Mnyim announced.

The primary election, which was held across the state, witnessed a large turnout of party members who defied the weather to cast their votes.

Following the declaration, jubilant supporters of the governor erupted in celebration at the collation centre as party officials concluded documentation and signing of the result sheets.

Mnyim commended party members for their peaceful conduct throughout the exercise and formally brought proceedings to a close after endorsing the result alongside the committee secretary.

In the same vein, the APC national elections committee for Adamawa State has declared Tijjani Galadima the winner of the gubernatorial primaries to fly the flag of the party in the 2027 general elections.

Announcing the results of the primaries in Yola, the state capital, the Chairman of the Committee, Professor Innocent Bariko, said this follows the collation of votes from the various local government areas of the state.

Reacting to the declaration, the winner of the primaries, Tijjani, said it is a victory for progress and appeals to other contestants to unite and work for the victory of the APC in the 2027 general elections.

The conduct of the primaries was without controversy, as aggrieved supporters of the various aspirants lamented the lack of transparency.

With the announcement of the primary results, the stage is now set for any appeals by aggrieved contestants, as the appeals committee is on the ground to receive and attend to petitions.
