Gov Lawal reinstates suspended Zamfara polytechnic rector

Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has approved the reinstatement of Dr. Surajo Abdullahi Shinkafi as the substantive Rector of Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, Talata Mafara, with immediate effect.

The decision followed a review of the circumstances surrounding his suspension.

The development was announced in a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Affairs, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Mohammed.

According to the statement, Shinkafi has been directed to report to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and resume his duties as the institution’s substantive rector.

The statement did not disclose the outcome of the review that led to his reinstatement.

Recall that Shinkafi was suspended by the Zamfara State Government on June 16, 2026 over allegations of misconduct and insubordination.
