Gov Lawal appoints new Head of Service in Zamfara
Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has approved the appointment of Shehu Baraya as the new Head of the State’s Civil Service.
The appointment takes immediate effect, according to a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Nakwada.
The statement was signed by the Senior Special Assistant (Media), Office of the Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, Suleman Ahmad Tudu.
Baraya succeeds Yakubu Haidara, who recently retired from the state civil service.
The new Head of Service is a seasoned career civil servant with extensive experience in public administration and has served as Permanent Secretary in several ministries.
Until his appointment, Baraya was the Permanent Secretary of the Zamfara State Civil Service Commission.
Governor Lawal commended Haidara for his service and contributions to the development of the state civil service, wishing him a fulfilling post-service life.
He also charged Baraya to use his experience to promote professionalism, strengthen discipline, improve productivity and enhance efficiency across the civil service in line with his administration’s Rescue Agenda.
