The new markets will be in addition to those currently existing across the state.

Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta announced the policy decision on Wednesday, saying the new markets would boost commercial activities in the various LGAs.

Speaking to newsmen while inspecting the proposed site for the market in Numan Local Government Area, Farauta said the planned markets would provide centralised spaces for individuals and companies to conduct businesses and thrive.

The deputy governor instructed the newly elected local government chairmen to ensure the timely completion of the projects in their jurisdictions.
