Gov Bago Mourns Slain NSCDC Officer, Orders Hunt For Killers

Niger State Governor, Umaru Bago, has expressed grief over the killing of Assistant Superintendent of Corps II (ASC II) Aminu Eshin, a personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), who was murdered during an attack at an illegal mining site in Korokpa Village.

In a condolence message issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the governor described the incident as tragic and deeply painful, noting that the officer lost his life in the line of duty while protecting the nation’s resources and defending the interests of the country.

Governor Bago extended his condolences to the leadership of the NSCDC, Niger State Command, the family of the deceased officer and all those affected by the loss.

He prayed for the repose of the late officer’s soul, asking Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.

The governor also directed security agencies to intensify efforts to track down and arrest those responsible for the killing, insisting that the perpetrators must be brought to justice.

Reaffirming his administration’s determination to tackle illegal mining, Bago warned individuals involved in unlawful mining activities to desist immediately, stressing that the state government’s ban on illegal mining remains in force.

He maintained that anyone found violating the directive would face the full weight of the law.

The governor assured residents that his administration would continue to support security agencies in their efforts to protect lives, secure communities and curb criminal activities across the state.
