Goodluck Jonathan: ‘Sandy Onor only presidential candidate of PDP’ – Wike

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has declared that the only presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is Sandy Onor.

Wike made the declaration while insisting that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, only recognizes Wadata Plaza as the Secretariat of the party.

Over the weekend, the two PDP factions produced two different presidential candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.

While the Wike-led group produced Onor, the Tanimu Turaki’s faction endorsed former President Goodluck Jonathan in absentia.

Jonathan, however, is yet to speak on the development.

Speaking during his monthly media chat on Monday in Abuja, Wike said: “Do you pick someone who has not told you he wants to run for an election?

“There is no faction in the PDP, the only presidential candidate of the PDP is Sandy Onor.

“INEC must know the secretariat of all political parties. The INEC-recognized PDP secretariat is Wadata Plaza and not anyone’s private office or bedroom.”
