Godzilla’s Most Anticipated Sequel Officially Stomps Into Theaters This Week

One of the biggest surprises at the box office a couple of years ago was the Japanese sleeper hit Godzilla Minus One. Released in the same year as Oppenheimer, the movie was often described as an unlikely companion piece to that Christopher Nolan blockbuster. It rode a wave of positive response, and, like the Indian film RRR a year earlier, went on to win an Oscar. It was honored in the Best Visual Effects category, beating out heavy hitters such as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning, and Napoleon. Now, a sequel to Godzilla Minus One is almost upon us.
