Giuliano Simeone on Manchester United radar

According to Mundo Deportivo, Manchester United are expected to use their upcoming Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid as an opportunity to take a closer look at Giuliano Simeone, who continues to attract interest from several Premier League clubs.

The Argentine forward is firmly on United’s radar, with scouts set to monitor him when Atletico host the English side at the Metropolitano. However, the Red Devils are apparently not alone in their admiration. Recent reports have also linked both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City with the 24-year-old attacker.

Simeone’s energy, versatility, pressing ability and physical style are all viewed as qualities that would suit the Premier League. Informal enquiries have already been made regarding the conditions of a possible transfer.

Any deal would be extremely difficult to complete, however. Atletico consider the player untouchable, having recently extended his contract until 2030. His release clause is believed to be set as high as €500 million, and the Argentine remains deeply attached to the club, having achieved his dream of establishing himself in Atletico’s first team.

This season, Simeone has contributed two goals and two assists and was recently named man of the match after playing a decisive role in Atletico’s derby victory over Real Madrid.
