Giants' John Harbaugh: Abdul Carter's injury 'doesn't look serious'

New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh provided an update on the injury sustained by outside linebacker Abdul Carter during the team’s first mandatory minicamp practice.

Following Monday’s session, Harbaugh told reporters that Carter twisted his ankle. He limped off the field and was evaluated by the team’s trainers.

“Looks like he twisted his ankle to some degree. Doesn’t look serious,” Harbaugh said.

The Penn State product is coming off a strong rookie season in 2025, during which he recorded 4.0 sacks and two forced fumbles for the Giants. Carter finished as a finalist for the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year award.

The team has released no official diagnosis of Carter’s injury. The Giants will continue mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, giving Carter another opportunity to practice if he is deemed healthy.
