Get to know the Kentucky football roster: No. 55 Abe Selm

The Kentucky Wildcats football season begins in 55 days with a matchup against Youngstown State, starting the Will Stein era in Lexington. As we get closer to the season, we’re getting to know the players on the roster, and today, we’re taking a look at No. 55, offensive lineman Abe Selm.

Selm is a 6’4, 327 lb interior offensive lineman who is from the Bluegrass State. Coming out of high school, he was rated three stars by 247Sports, and ranked as their No. 69 interior lineman. He came in as the No. 548 overall player in the 2024 class on the composite board, and despite offers from schools like Penn State, he committed to Kentucky.

Despite seeing action in a few games in his first year, he would ultimately redshirt. Then, last season, he once again made an appearance, but didn’t get extended playing time. Still, he stuck with the Wildcats through the coaching change.

Heading into 2026, he’s likely the first option off the bench at left guard. As a sophomore, he still has several years of eligibility remaining, and by next year, could earn the regular starting job. He’s a talented player who is gaining valuable experience.
