Germany penalty shootout record: Have they ever lost a World Cup shoot out?

When it comes to penalty shoot outs, no country has a record quite like Germany.

They’ve never lost, and they barely miss.

In the elmination rounds of World Cup soccer, if teams are still tied at the end of overtime it heads to a penalty shoot out.

Germany has gone to shoot outs four times in their World Cup history,in France in 1982, Mexico in 1986, England in 1990, and Argentina in 2006. In total, the penalties resulted in 18 shots on net, of which they’ve only missed once.
