FSU football reportedly adds long-time coach Paul Pasqualoni
Florida State is adding veteran coach Paul Pasqualoni to its football staff, according to reports.
Pasqualoni is a long-time coach and former Syracuse and UConn head coach, and he will join the defensive staff under interim defensive coordinator Ernie Sims. The 77-year-old has decades of experience and has a relationship with now-interim athletic director Bruce Warwick. He joins the staff of interim head coach Rick Stockstill, who took over after the university fired Mike Norvell on Sunday, Nov. 1.
The addition won’t come in time for the Seminoles’ road trip to Boston College, but he’s expected to join the team ahead of its road trip to Pitt.
With experience in the NFL, including with the Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins, the program hopes Pasqualoni’s hire can bring some stability to the Seminoles’ unstable defense. FSU allows 424.4 yards per game and has fallen short in multiple games where the offense has posted a big number.
