Freshman CB showcasing elite traits with Washington football

One of Washington’s top-ranked signees in the 2026 class, four-star cornerback Rahsjon Duncan, wasn’t able to enroll with the Huskies until June and is getting himself acclimated to the college level ahead of his freshman season on Montlake.

After arriving as the No. 57 overall prospect and No. 6 cornerback in the nation, according to Rivals, Duncan has certainly looked the part during fall camp, even though he hasn’t had much production to show for it on the stat sheet.

In what appears to be a room rich with young talent, including Duncan’s classmates Jeron Jones and Elijah Durr, secondary coach John Richardson has been very pleased with the progress of the product of McClymonds High School in Oakland, California.

“Rahsjon is, first of all, a phenomenal athlete and very physical,” Richardson said on Friday. “So for him, it’s just getting acclimated since he got here in June, getting his body going and stuff like that, just to the college regimen. But athletically, man, he’s doing great things, but just trying to get him focused and disciplined on those types of things. But it’s nothing different than Dylan (Robinson) first coming in.”

“The only difference is Dylan is like 6-foot-3, 6-foot-4; he’s weighing 210 pounds, something crazy. So, it’s just different body types, but Duncan is the same type of athlete, just athletic, and we’ll get him going too.”

When asked about Duncan’s lateral speed, Richardson had more praise for the freshman, who could carve out a role for himself with the Huskies this fall.

“He’s built very well, he can go out there and run track, and he’s probably a 10.4- 10.5 (100-meter dash) kid on the track. Typically, some guys are just straight ahead, but he can definitely move laterally, and he can change direction and pick up speed fast. So for him, he’s built well; he comes from a great program in McClymonds, where (UW alum) Marcus Peters is from, who’s the head coach there as well. I’m pretty sure he’s feeling the pressure from his old coach about how you need to play out here. So, I’ve been mainly just teaching him and growing him, and then he’ll get acclimated and get going, too.”
