Fresh trouble for Infantino as UEFA confirms his alleged mistress was paid off

UEFA has confirmed that they are aware of allegations about paying off Gianni Infantino’s alleged mistress.

According to The Telegraph, the incident happened during Infantino’s tenure as UEFA general secretary.

The 53-year-old, who is married with four children, is now FIFA president.

It is claimed that a woman was allegedly in a relationship Infantino and received a six-figure sum.

Also, UEFA paid for her MBA (Master of Business Administration degree) after she left.

UEFA said in a statement: “We are aware of the allegations and can confirm a departure payment was made to the individual in question, coupled with the payment of fees for an MBA course at a local business school.

“The payment was in line with the regulations that existed for departing staff at the time. Such regulations have been tightened since 2016 and the current staff regulations – which apply to all UEFA employees at whatever level – reflect those found in a modern, high-profile organisation.”

Infantino worked at UEFA for 16 years from 2000 to 2016, before he won the presidential election at FIFA.

He is currently under pressure to resign from the role, after his scheme to sell stakes in the World Cup to investors failed.
