The North Carolina Tar Heels improved to 2-0 in a 35-3 routing over East Tennessee State, and Edwards Jr. looked better than he ever has before.

UNC got the week off after they opened the 2026 season in Dublin with a huge win over TCU, so it’s clear Edwards Jr. was well-rested and ready to get back on the field.

He had just two carries for negative three yards, so it’s clear Belichick and Co. aren’t too keen about him using his legs, at least not in a game like this.

Edwards Jr. completed 15 of his 20 passes for 244 yards, which comes out to 12.2 yards per completion. He threw for a pair of touchdowns, marking his first at the collegiate level since November 16, 2024.

The now 2-0 Tar Heels will travel to Memorial Stadium to take on 1-1 Clemson in Week 3. That game is set to kick off at 12:00 p.m. EST.
