Former Marquette star Oso Ighodaro agrees to big extension with Suns
Oso Ighodaro has shown that he is a valuable NBA player, and now the former Marquette star is being rewarded.
The Phoenix Suns and Ighodaro have agreed on a three-year contract extension worth $29 million.
ESPN’s Shams Charania was the first to report the deal. Charania also reported that the Suns picked up Ighodaro’s $2.5 million team option for the 2027-28 season, and the extension will start in 2028 and run through 2031.
After four seasons at MU, Ighodaro was drafted 40th overall by Phoenix in the 2024 draft.
Ighodaro, a Phoenix-area native, has found a niche with the Suns as a versatile defender and a rebounder/facilitator on offense. He made 30 starts over his first two NBA seasons, averaging 5.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
