While he recently revealed he hasn’t ruled out pitching next season at age 47, Hill is making a brief interlude this week to the analyst’s chair for MLB Network’s coverage of the 2026 World Series.

If MLB Network values longevity in its analysts, they could not have picked a better one than Hill, who pitched 19 games for the American League champion Tampa Bay Rays in 2021.

Hill pitched for an MLB record-tying 14 teams in a career that began in 2005 with the Chicago Cubs, where hje was teammates with Hall of Famer Greg Maddux. He signed free agent contracts with the Boston Red Sox on six different occasions. When he signed a minor league contract with the Royals a year ago, Hill was more than twice the age of his catcher, Carter Jensen, when the two were in Triple-A.

Each game in the best-of-seven series will begin at 8 p.m. ET. The Milwaukee Brewers will host Games 1 and 2 after they defeated the Dodgers. The Rays, who will host Game 3 on Monday, eliminated the Cleveland Guardians (another one of Hill’s former teams) by winning Game 6 of the AL Championship Series.
