Former Clemson LB waived shortly after signing with Jacksonville Jaguars
Former Clemson linebacker Baylon Spector’s stay in Jacksonville turned out to be a short one.
The Jaguars released Spector on Sunday as part of their final round of roster moves before reaching the NFL’s 53-player limit. The 27-year-old had only joined Jacksonville on Aug. 17, giving him roughly two weeks with the organization before being let go.
Spector was looking to continue his NFL career after spending his first four seasons with the Buffalo Bills. Buffalo selected him with the No. 231 overall pick in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
He appeared in 29 regular-season games for the Bills and made four starts, recording 55 tackles, two tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and a fumble recovery.
Spector saw his largest defensive role during the 2024 season. He played in 11 games and started four, finishing the year with 40 tackles, two tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, a quarterback hit and a fumble recovery.
His role decreased in 2025, when he appeared in three games and recorded three tackles. Spector also has three career postseason appearances, including one playoff start.

Before reaching the NFL, Spector became a key part of Clemson‘s defense. He finished his Tiger career with 210 tackles, 22 tackles for loss and nine sacks across 53 appearances.
Spector led Clemson with 72 tackles and 4.5 sacks in 2020 before finishing second on the team with 85 tackles as a captain in 2021.
With Jacksonville moving on, the former Tiger will now look for another opportunity as NFL teams continue adjusting their rosters ahead of the regular season.
