Florida baseball's Aidan King, Caden McDonald named All-Americans

Two Florida baseball players earned All-American nods on Wednesday, June 11.

The Gators’ starting pitcher Aidan King and two-way star Caden McDonald each landed on the National College Baseball Writers Association team.

King, who was named the SEC Pitcher of the Year, was a first-team All-American. This season, the right-hander held a 3.21 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and recorded 92 strikeouts with 10 walks in 97 innings of work.

McDonald landed on the second team, earning All-American honors for the first time. The redshirt sophomore batted .319 and hit nine doubles and nine home runs while driving in 28 runs in 21 starts.

On the mound, McDonald registered a 3.42 ERA, 5-1 win-loss record, 48 strikeouts and eight walks in 47.1 innings.

Perfect Game also featured King and McDonald on its All-American team. Both were second-team selections, with King as the starting pitcher, and McDonald as a two-way player.
