Five-star PF Marcus Spears Jr., son of former NFL DL, commits to Texas hoops after reclassifying

Five-star power forward Marcus Spears Jr., the son of former NFL defensive lineman and current ESPN analyst Marcus Spears, has committed to Texas men’s basketball, the 17-year-old confirmed on Instagram Thursday.

Spears, a highly touted prospect previously in the 2027 class, will take his talents to the collegiate ranks a year early. Due to his April birthday, he’s two years away from being eligible for the NBA Draft, meaning that he can’t be a one-and-done college player.
