The incident occurred on Tuesday night at Tukur Muhammed Nigeria Limited, located along Saya Saya Road, Rano.

This was contained in a statement signed by Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, the service’s Public Relations Officer, on Wednesday.

The Kano State Fire Service said its Emergency Response Unit at the Rano Fire Station received a distress call at about 9:20 pm from the station manager, Abubakar Umar.

“Our firefighters immediately responded to the distress call and, upon arrival, found the fire at a ground-floor building being used as a petrol filling station,” the statement added.

According to the Fire Service, the fire started from a Mikano generator and affected the rear tyres of a CANTER vehicle, which were slightly burnt.

“The responding firefighters quickly brought the situation under control and prevented the fire from spreading to other sections of the filling station.”

The agency attributed the incident to a fault in the generator.

The Director of the Kano State Fire Service, Alhaji Sani Anas, urged members of the public to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to prevent fire outbreaks.

“Residents and business owners should ensure they have functional fire extinguishers on their premises and observe proper fire-safety measures at all times,” the statement added.
