With ESPN “College GameDay” featuring the Iowa football game vs Ohio State, and the Indiana Fever being eliminated in the WNBA Playoffs on Thursday night, it made for a good fit. The Fever superstar will take advantage of the opportunity to cap the week she launched her Caitlin 1’s with Nike, and a number of activations and advertisements around Iowa City, Iowa, too.

Clark completed her third season with the Fever, mostly healthy. She was an MVP candidate finishing third in points and second in assists, averaging 22.3 points, 8.3 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game. She started the 40 games she played in, and the three playoff games, missing some time due to a back injury.

She helped USA Basketball win a gold medal at the FIBA World Cup last month in Germany.

Clark starred at Iowa before being selected first overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft by the Fever. She was a two-time national player of the year and an All-American – second team her freshman season – all four years starring with the Hawkeyes. She led them to a pair of national title games in 2023 and 2024, losing both.

She led NCAA Division I three times in scoring average and assists average. She also has the career record of 28.4 points per game, 3,951 points, 548 3-point makes (and 1,452 attempts) and 1,293 field goals made.

The football game has major playoff implications with No. 6 Ohio State (3-1) losing at Texas earlier this season. The 14th-ranked Hawkeyes (4-0) have home games remaining against Wisconsin, Purdue and Nebraska and visits to Washington, Minnesota, Northwestern and Illinois.
