Fernando Mendoza shares message for Raiders fans after signing rookie deal
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Fernando Mendoza has officially signed his rookie deal. It took time for the deal to get done, but both parties came to an agreement, which led to the Raiders locking their new franchise quarterback down shortly after rookies reported for training camp this summer.
The Raiders shared a video of Mendoza thanking supporters of the team after signing his contract on Thursday.
“I’m so excited to be a part of the family,” said Mendoza. “Can’t wait to get to work. I’m really excited. Than you guys again for this, all the support.”

Mendoza signed a four-year, $57.2 million deal with Las Vegas that now has him positioned to lead the team for the foreseeable future. He has a position battle on his hands with Kirk Cousins to be the team’s starting QB to begin next season, but has cleared the biggest checkpoint necessary to get to work for the Klint Kubiak-led team.
