Fernandez, Ndiaye, Woltemade: The transfers to watch before the window closes

The transfer deadline for Premier League clubs is fast approaching, with only hours left to finalise deals. Here are the transfers to watch on transfer deadline day.

Enzo Fernandez

Manchester City could be the biggest spenders of deadline day after contacting Chelsea for Enzo Fernandez. Chelsea put a price tag of £120m on the midfielder last month, who is keen to quit Stamford Bridge for the Etihad. Xabi Alonso left Fernandez out of his squad at the weekend in an indication a deal could be done.

Iliman Ndiaye

Iliman Ndiaye‘s proposed move to Manchester City from Everton looks likely to be a done deal. The Cityzens have agreed a £65m deal to sign Ndiaye, after failing to land Cody Gakpo from Liverpool. Ndiaye’s move to the Etihad will free Jack Grealish to return to Everton on loan in the opposite direction.

Folarin Balogun

Grealish looks set to be joined byFolarin Balogun at Hill Dickinson Stadium. The US international will undergo a medical with the Toffees today, ahead of a €45m move from Monaco. Balogun will replace Beto, who has departed for Fiorentina.

Nick Woltemade

Nick Woltemade’s unhappy spell at St James’ Park looks set to end today – temporarily at least. The Germany international is set to sign on loan forJuventus from Newcastle, as the two clubs race to beat the deadline. Juventus will pay £3.5m for the loan, with no purchase option included.

Malick Fofana

Arsenal have enquired about Malick Fofana as the Gunners seek another wide option before the deadline. Mikel Arteta has said Arsenal are actively trying to strengthen before the window closes and Fofana is a player of interest. However, Arsenal are reluctant to meet the current €40m asking price for the 21-year-old Lyon winger.

Harvey Elliott

Harvey Elliott appears set to head for the Anfield exit door as the midfielder looks to revive a stagnating career. After a frustrating loan spell at Aston Villa last season, Elliott will leave on loan again. Valencia have agreed to sign the 23-year-old who is seeking a fresh start in Spain.

Lamine Camara

Chelsea want to add a midfielder to their ranks as Enzo Fernandez nears an exit. Lamine Camara is understood to be the preferred candidate, if a deal can be agreed with Monaco. Chelsea have also enquired about AS Roma’s Manu Kone.
