Fantasy Football quarterback rankings for Week 6
Between injuries and bye weeks, fewer and fewer viable QBs are available to pick and choose from in fantasy football. Last week, Patrick Mahomes and Bryce Young were on their couches.
This week, it’s Jared Goff, Joe Burrow, Kyler Murray, and Malik Willis. While Willis and Murray probably wouldn’t make this list of 12 QBs, Goff and Burrow surely would.
With that in mind, here are this week’s QB rankings.

12. CJ Stroud-Texans: The Texans finally got off the schnide last week, defeating the winless Tennessee Titans. In his fourth season, he remains one of the league’s most controversial QBs. He has a 29-22 career record and three playoff wins under his belt. This season, he’s thrown six TDs without an interception and is averaging nearly 300 yds per game. And the Texans just traded for Marvin Harrison Jr., his WR at Ohio St.
11. Dak Prescott-Cowboys: Win, lose, or draw, Prescott tends to put up his numbers. And coming off a ridiculous home loss to the previously winless Buccaneers, they will be out for blood this week. The Cowboys head to Green Bay to face the Packers.
10. Drake Maye-Patriots: Maye has been Jekyll and Hyde this season. After Week 3, he was statistically the league’s worst QB. The last two weeks he’s looked like an MVP candidate again. The Patriots are again at home this week, against the 2-3 Jets. Expect another solid outing from Maye. And AJ Brown may be returning and available to Maye this week.
9. Tyler Shough-Saints: The shine is definitely off the Saints. They are scoring nearly 24pts per game but giving up over 30. The benefit of constantly playing from behind is that Shough is forced to throw early and often. He is averaging over 40 passing attempts per game, and that will continue this week against the Giants.
8. Jalen Hurts-Eagles: The Eagles are in disarray, and HC Nick Sirianni is slowly making his way onto the chopping block. Home cooking may be what Philly needs, but those fans are relentless. If they get off to a slow start, expect a boo-fest. They are playing a Panthers team giving up over 25pts per game, and Hurts will right the ship. For all his detractors, he is a big-game QB, and this is a very big regular-season game.

7. Bryce Young-Panthers: The Panthers are coming off a bye week and should be well-rested in this road game against the Eagles. Whether the Panthers win or not, Young will put up solid numbers against an Eagles team that gives up more points than it scores. The Panthers average over 30 pts, and Young averages over 300 passing yds per game. This is by far the best season in his young career.
6. Kirk Cousins-Raiders: The Raiders have now lost two in a row, and if Cousins doesn’t turn it around, the chants for Fernando Mendoza may begin to boil over. On paper, you’d think this could be a long day for the Raiders, as they are hosting the Bills this week. But the Bills’ defense is woeful, regardless of their 4-1 record. They have given up the most pts in the AFC so far this season, 28.2pts per game.
5. Patrick Mahomes-Chiefs: Mahomes is coming off a bye, which should help this aging Chiefs team. And while Mahomes is showing no effects from his offseason knee surgery, the week off should recharge the batteries. An early bye may hurt him and the rest of the team later in the year, but for now, the 0-5 Chargers will face a well-rested Chiefs team. Expect Mahomes to threaten another 300-yard game with a couple of TD passes.
4. Jordan Love-Packers: It’s ironic that the Packers face off against the Cowboys this week. In many ways, Love is becoming this generation’s Dak Prescott. Each QB has all the talent in the world and shows flashes of brilliance. But each QB can put up a stinker too…it comes down to predicting which game to avoid.
While Love has thrown two TD passes each game this season, his first three games were mediocre at best. Two weeks ago, he completed 73.3% of his passes, while last week he completed 80.6% and had 367 passing yds. Expect another air assault this week.

3. Brock Purdy-49ers: Mr. Irrelevant has become more than relevant. He has led the Niners to first place in the NFC West and a 5-0 start. He has defeated two tough divisional opponents already and has firm control of the division. This week, he faces a Commanders team in disarray. They give up 30 points per game and are ranked 29th against the pass.
2. Matt Stafford-Rams: The Rams are spiraling. They are 2-3 and desperately need a win. Stafford faces a Cardinals team that has given up 162pts this season, the most in the league.
While Stafford hasn’t been as precise as last year, he’s now had four consecutive games with over 300 passing yards and is on pace for over 5,300 for the season. He is going to tear the Cardinals up. Expect his first 400-yard game of the season and three more passing TDs.
1. Josh Allen-Bills: The Raiders just gave up 45pts to the Patriots. The week before that, they gave up 30pts to Mahomes and the Chiefs. The week before, they gave up 27pts to the Saints. This is not a good trend. At this rate, Allen and the Bills will put up over 50pts against them. Allen hasn’t been great this season, yet he’s led them to a 4-1 start.
His QB rating this season is 99.6, and he’s only thrown 7 TDs. He has 8 rushing TDs and is on pace for 51 total TDs, but some of his stat lines have been wild. For instance, this week, they beat the Rams 37-34, but he only threw 19 passes. He rushed for 10 carries for 121 yards. In the long run, this is not a winning formula for long-term success…but this week against the Raiders, it will be. Expect over 300 combined yds and at least three total TDs.
