Fantasy Football Kicker Rankings: Week 6 2026
Kicker is often overlooked in fantasy football, but Week 5 reminded us that the difference between a decent option and a game-changing performance often hinges on opportunity rather than name recognition. Last Sunday, Jason Myers and Spencer Shrader both had five field-goal attempts, turning what seemed like ordinary situations before kickoff into some of the best fantasy performances at their position. As we enter Week 6, streaming kickers becomes even more important. Cincinnati, Detroit, Miami, and Minnesota are on bye this week, temporarily removing Evan McPherson, Jake Bates, and Will Reichard from the player pool.
This leaves many fantasy managers searching for replacements and raises the question of whether it’s wise to stick with the same kicker each week.
The best strategy is typically not to chase the kicker who scored the most points the previous game, and while the overall scoring environment of an offense matters, so does how that offense reaches scoring range. Teams that frequently advance past midfield only to stall before getting into the end zone can be particularly valuable, while high-scoring offenses may end up producing more extra points than field goals. Week 6 showcases examples of both types of offenses.

Indianapolis has established one of the best situations for fantasy football through the first five weeks of the season. Spencer Shrader successfully made all five of his field-goal attempts in the 34-22 loss to Pittsburgh, scoring 16 points and tying the Colts’ franchise record for field goals in a game, and his performance wasn’t just a fluke because he had already made three field goals in Week 4 and four in Week 3, providing fantasy managers with a growing sample of consistent scoring opportunities.
A home matchup against Tennessee keeps this situation promising. The Colts are likely to spend enough time in the Titans’ territory to create scoring chances, and their occasional inefficiency in the red zone actually plays to a kicker’s advantage; as a result, Shrader enters Week 6 as the top option because his opportunities have become reliable and not just based on a favorable matchup.
Brandon Aubrey remains the safest alternative, even with Dallas traveling to Green Bay. Few kickers possess his combination of range and are supported by an offense that can move the ball well beyond midfield, which lessens the need for ideal field position. Although Aubrey didn’t deliver a huge fantasy score against Tampa Bay last Thursday, one quiet week doesn’t significantly alter his overall outlook.
The middle of the top tier is becoming more intriguing, as several offenses are generating exactly the type of drives that fantasy managers desire. Houston will face Jacksonville, pairing Ka’imi Fairbairn with an offense that recently scored 26 points against Tennessee. Meanwhile, Baltimore is headed to Cleveland, where Tyler Loop once again demonstrated that distance isn’t an issue; the rookie made a 51-yard field goal against Atlanta, one week after hitting a 64-yarder against Tennessee.
These long-range attempts add another dimension to his weekly ceiling. A kicker who relies on his offense reaching the 25-yard line has fewer opportunities to score than one whose coaching staff is willing to send him out to attempt field goals from midfield. Baltimore has already shown that willingness, making Loop especially valuable in leagues that award bonuses for field goals of 50 yards or more.
A prime example of why last week’s final score shouldn’t determine overall rankings is Jason Myers. In Seattle’s 32-29 loss to San Francisco, Myers had an impressive kicking performance, converting five field goals and both extra-point attempts for a total of 17 points. Notably, all five field goals were from at least 40 yards, including one from 50 yards.
While it’s unreasonable to expect him to achieve five field goals again, his performance highlighted how Seattle can generate fantasy value even without scoring touchdowns on every drive. Thursday night’s game against Denver presents a different challenge, particularly because the Broncos’ defense is capable of stalling drives before reaching the end zone. This can lead to lower offensive projections while still offering opportunities for a productive kicker performance.
Pittsburgh is in a similar situation on the road against Tampa Bay. Chris Boswell successfully converted both of his field-goal attempts and all four extra points in the game against Indianapolis. The Buccaneers have been one of the more favorable teams for kickers this season, allowing approximately 15 fantasy points per game to the position, which makes Boswell a strong streaming option this week.
Cam Little also falls into this category as Jacksonville prepares to host Houston. The Jaguars may not need to score touchdowns on every possession for him to be a viable starting option, especially given the matchup where both defenses can tighten up near the red zone. Instead of expecting a high-scoring shootout, the focus is on the potential for multiple scoring drives that end with field goals.
This rationale also applies to Eddy Pineiro, who is a top-10 option this week against Washington. San Francisco has enough offensive efficiency to create frequent scoring opportunities, and playing at home generally reduces some of the uncertainties that can affect kicker projections in other environments.
Fantasy managers should focus on opportunity rather than reputation when considering kickers lower in the rankings, and a prime example is Dominic Zvada. His performance in Week 5 may look poor, as he missed three field goals against Washington, including a 46-yard attempt in overtime, but the Giants still gave him five attempts during the game. Prior to Week 5, Zvada had successfully converted all 11 of his field-goal tries in the first four games. Additionally, two of his misses came from beyond 50 yards, making his 2-for-5 performance less concerning than it appears at first glance.
The Giants will play at home against New Orleans, which could lead to more scoring opportunities and help Zvada bounce back from his Week 5 struggles. Kicker performance can be highly volatile, so abandoning a player after one poor game may mean missing out on the very opportunities that fantasy managers should be pursuing.
Kansas City’s return from the bye week also brings Harrison Butker back into consideration. The Chiefs will host the Chargers, and both teams have enough offensive talent to produce multiple scoring chances, and while Butker’s ceiling may be sometimes limited if Kansas City finishes drives with touchdowns, being part of Patrick Mahomes’ offense remains a valuable asset.
Another potential option for fantasy managers is Green Bay’s Trey Smack. The matchup against Dallas on Sunday Night Football could provide enough possessions and scoring opportunities to benefit both kickers. Although Smack’s sample size is still small, the game environment presents a legitimate streaming option.
Additionally, there are viable alternatives further down the list, including Harrison Mevis, Wil Lutz, and Nick Folk. None of these kickers require a permanent roster spot, which is exactly the point. In fantasy football, switching from one favorable setup to another can often yield better results than sticking with a familiar name simply because they were drafted in August.

The Week 6 board clearly illustrates why kicker rankings should be more adaptable than those for most other fantasy positions, and while recent opportunities are important, scoring five field goals in one week does not guarantee the same outcome the following week.
