FAAC: Stop building unnecessary flyovers with state revenues — Tinubu tells Nigerian Governors

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged state governors not to waste their respective states’ revenues on building unnecessary flyovers.

He made this known on Thursday when Oba Rashidi Ladoja, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, paid him a courtesy visit at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

According to him, instead of building flyovers, governors should channel state resources into constructing road networks that would improve the quality of life of citizens.

“Instead of flyovers where there is no significant traffic, they should build road networks to enhance the quality of life,” President Tinubu said.

He noted that monthly allocations from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) have increased by four to five times.

Tinubu added that his administration has ended the era in which sub-national governments borrowed money to pay salaries and pensions.

“They are taking four to five times their previous allocations. Nobody is borrowing to pay salaries now,” he said.

DAILY POST reports that the three tiers of government in Nigeria received at least N53.3 trillion from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) between March 2023 and May 2026.
