Exchange rate today, November 6, 2026: Naira appreciates against dollar to end week positively

The naira appreciated against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Friday, ending the first week of November 2026 on a positive note.

Data from the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, showed that the naira strengthened slightly to N1,346.79 per dollar on Friday, compared with N1,348.74 recorded on Thursday.

This means the naira gained N1.95 against the dollar on a day-to-day basis at the official foreign exchange market, recovering after days of depreciation.

Meanwhile, at the parallel market, popularly known as the black market, the naira remained stable at N1,410 per dollar on Friday, the same exchange rate recorded the previous day.

Across both foreign exchange markets, the naira has recorded more losses than gains in recent trading sessions.

This comes as the country’s external reserves dropped to $55.13 billion, according to data from the apex bank.
