Ex-Man City defender, Jerome Boateng gets coaching job

Former Manchester City and Bayern Munich defender, Jerome Boateng, has landed a new coaching job.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Boateng has agreed to sign at Trabzonspor as the new assistant coach.

This is coming after Boateng announced his retirement from professional football on September 19, 2025, at the age of 37.

The former Germany international enjoyed the most successful spell of his career at Bayern Munich.

He won several trophies, including nine German championships, two Champions Leagues, and five DFB Cup wins at Bayern.

The 38-year-old also won the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil with Germany.

He also played for clubs like Hertha BSC, Hamburger SV, Olympique Lyon, US Salernitana and LASK.
