Ex-Flying Eagles boss takes charge at Sudan’s Al Ahli Madani

Sudanese club Al Ahli Madani have appointed Aliyu Zubairu as their new head coach on a two-year contract, DAILY POST reports.

Zubairu, a former Flying Eagles head coach, previously managed Egyptian second division outfit, Telecom SC.

The 62-year-old’s contract was mutually terminated by Telecom SC two days ago.

Zubairu will now replace veteran tactician Farouk Jabra at Al Ahli Madani.

Jabra left the position following the expiration of his contract.

Zubairu came into limelight after guiding El-kanemi Warriors to win the Nigeria President Federation Cup in 2024.

The Maiduguri club also gained promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, the same season.

Zubairu was later appointed head coach of Nigeria’s U-20 side, the Flying Eagles.

Under his tutelage, the Flying Eagles won the WAFU B U-20 Championship, and finished third at the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Egypt..
