Ex-Broncos TE Nick Vannett can make NFL history with his new team

A former Denver Broncos tight end might be on the verge of tying NFL history.

Nick Vannett, who played with the Broncos in 2020, joined the Baltimore Ravens‘ practice squad last week. Baltimore marks Vannett’s 11th NFL team, and the tight end played in regular-season games with nine of them: Seattle, Pittsburgh, Denver, New Orleans, New York (Giants), Los Angeles (Chargers), Tennessee, Minnesota and L.A. (Rams).

Practice squad players are eligible to be elevated to the game-day roster up to three times during a season. If the Ravens ever elevate Vannett, that will mark the 10th club he has played for, tying an NFL record. The only other players in NFL history who played with 10 teams were former kicker Shayne Graham and tackle/end Villie Moss, according to ESPN.

Vannett hauled in 14 receptions for 95 yards and one touchdown in 15 games with the Broncos in 2020. He has totaled 108 catches for 1,012 yards and nine touchdowns through ten seasons (121 games) in the NFL.
