Former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has cleared the air on speculation surrounding his relationship with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.

DAILY POST reports that Ortom was one of the key members of the G5 Governors, also known as the Integrity Group, which emerged within the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The group comprised Wike, Ortom, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and former governors Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State.

Makinde, who was also a member of the group, has been in a prolonged political face-off with the FCT Minister.

There have also been speculations of a possible fallout between Ortom and Wike.

However, speaking on ARISE TV’s Morning Show on Tuesday, the former governor dismissed the speculation, saying he remains committed to Wike.

According to him, although they sometimes disagree, their political relationship remains intact.

“Sometimes we argue. I, Samuel Ortom, remain committed to the FCT Minister.

“I remain committed to our national leader, Nyesom Wike,” he said.
