Every Stephen King adaptation, ranked
Spooky season is just beginning, but any true horror fan can tell you: Stephen King is terrifying all year round.
Across a 50-year career, King has written 69 novels and over 200 short stories, giving directors, screenwriters, and actors plenty of material to work with.
And they have — King’s works have been adapted a whopping 79 times, with more on the way.
The latest adaptation of King’s work to hit our screens is yet another version of “Carrie,” this time as an eight-episode TV season available to binge on Prime Video.
It was developed by Mike Flanagan and stars Summer H.
Howell as telekinetic teen Carrie, Samantha Sloyan as her overprotective (at best) mom, Margaret, Siena Agudong as one of Carrie’s classmates, Sue, and Alison Thornton as Carrie’s nemesis, Chris.
We’ve used Rotten Tomatoes to rank every single King adaptation — or at least, all the ones with critics’ scores — to determine the classics from the forgettables.
Here’s how every King adaptation stacks up.
