Everton have agreed a deal to sign Finland international striker Jutta Rantala from Leicester City.

Leicester have said Rantala has a year remaining on her contract so Everton are expected to pay a fee to sign the 26-year-old.

BBC Sport reported last week the clubs were in discussions having already conducted business together this summer.

France forward Noemie Mouchon joined Everton from Leicester on a free transfer, while Wales international Hannah Cain also returned to Merseyside from the Foxes.

Rantala has scored 13 goals in 48 appearances since joining Leicester from Swedish club Vittsjo GIK in 2023.

She was Leicester’s player of the season and top goalscorer in 2023-24 but suffered a knee injury the following campaign.

On the international scene, Rantala has scored 10 goals in 36 appearances and was part of the Finland squad at Euro 2025.

She would be the sixth player to depart Leicester this summer after they were relegated from the Women’s Super League in June.

Everton are looking to build on last season where they finished eighth in the WSL following the managerial departure of Brian Sorensen.

Scott Phelan was named his permanent successor this summer and they have made four signings so far.
