The Even Todd Monken can’t explain howCleveland Browns are having a season that defies explanation. They find themselves in first place in the AFC North division, improving their record to 4-2 after defeating the Baltimore Ravens 13-10 in Week 6.

The Browns have clearly been a competitive team that has played their best football in the fourth quarter of multiple games. That’s an admirable characteristic for any team, but the Browns have struggled to move the ball on offense throughout the season.

That was once again the case in the victory over the Ravens. The Browns were held scoreless throughout the first half and could only manage a field goal in the third quarter. However, Deshaun Watson and the offense came alive in the fourth quarter and the Browns were able to emerge with the victory.

The Browns came into the game with the 29th-ranked offense in the NFL, and they didn’t do anything against the Ravens to improve that status.

Watson threw for 164 yards in the game and was largely ineffective. However, his 33-yard pass to WR Jerry Jeudy set Andre Szmyt up for the game-winning 37-yard field goal on the final play of the game.

Head coach Todd Monken knows his team’s offense has been struggling, and it’s difficult for him to explain how the team has been able to gain first place in the division. “I don’t know what to say in a lot of ways other than we’ve got a lot of work to do on the offensive side,” Monken said after the game, per The Athletic.
