EPL: Okafor on target as Leeds halt Tottenham's winning streak
Noah Okafor’s 79th-minute goal gave Leeds United all three points against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, ending Spurs’ three-match winning streak in the Premier League and snapping Leeds’ five-game winless run.
The decisive moment came after a first half notable mainly for two VAR decisions at Stockley Park.
The first saw VAR decline to intervene over a penalty appeal for a Mateus Fernandes handball, ruling that the cross from the far side had legally struck the Tottenham midfielder’s shoulder in what the Premier League match centre described on X as the “green zone.”
The result leaves Leeds eighth in the Premier League table with 14 points from 10 matches, while Tottenham are 11th with 12 points.
Leeds will face Chelsea in their next Premier League clash on Saturday 21 November 2026.
