EPL: Jay Bothroyd names Man City star Arsenal should’ve signed for Arteta

· · 1 min read

Former England international, Jay Bothroyd, has insisted that Arsenal should have signed Manchester City star Iliman Ndiaye for manager Mikel Arteta during the summer transfer window.

Ndiaye recently joined Manchester City from Everton and made his debut for the Cityzens on Saturday as they defeated Coventry City 1-0 in the Premier League.

His teammate, Erling Haaland, scored the only goal of the encounter to give Manchester City all three points against Coventry.

“Arsenal should have gone for  Ndiaye early doors,” Bothroyd said on Sky Sports News.

“Yes, we went for Vinicius Junior, who is arguably the best left-winger in the world, but when you look at the value for money for Ndiaye, I feel like £65million is an absolute steal.

“Man City, for me, had the best window. They got in top, top players straight away that can come in, hit the ground running.”
