EPL: Carrick could be sacked after Man Utd vs Aston Villa - Steven Gerrard

Ex-Liverpool captain, Steven Gerrard, has said Michael Carrick could be fired as Manchester United manager, if they don’t beat Aston Villa on Sunday.

United go into the game at Old Trafford sitting in relegation places, after Nottingham Forest claimed 3-1 victory over Manchester City.

There are rumours that United’s senior officials have already spoken to other coaches like Eddie Howe, Antonio Conte and Julian Nagelsmann.

Gerrard believes the club could be forced to take drastic action if the team drops points against Villa.

He told TNT Sports: “If you lose that on the back of not winning in nine matches in the league, I think it could be tough for him.”
