EPL: 'Best midfielder' - Carragher hails Arsenal star after 1-0 win at Liverpool

Former England defender, Jamie Carragher, has named Arsenal’s Declan Rice as the best midfielder in the Premier League.

Carragher was speaking on Sky Sports, after the Gunners won 1-0 at Liverpool on Sunday.

Rice provided the assist for Kai Havertz’s winner in the first half of the game.

Carragher said: “He’s the best midfield player in the Premier League by a long way. It’s not even a debate. Declan Rice is the best midfield player in this country.

“I’m not an Arsenal fan, but sometimes I hear people speak about him.

“And I’m sort of flabbergasted that they don’t understand football and they’re not watching the same game as me.”
