England head to Boston Stadium in Foxborough tonight with the chance to seal their place in the knockout rounds with a game to spare.

Thomas Tuchel’s side were exhilarating against Croatia on matchday one, scoring four goals and registering 20 shots inside the penalty area — a new World Cup record.

However, the defensive frailties exposed in that match were equally notable, with Croatia finding space on the counter on multiple occasions.

Tuchel will demand greater solidity at the back tonight while maintaining the attacking intensity that has made this England side so exciting to watch.

Tuchel has a largely fit squad at his disposal. Bukayo Saka continues to be managed carefully following his Achilles issue and is expected to start on the bench again, with Noni Madueke retaining his place on the right flank.

Declan Rice and Marcus Rashford both took part in full training and are expected to be available, though Rice has been managing a hamstring issue throughout the tournament. Elliot Anderson is set to continue alongside Rice in the midfield base.
