Kanter declared for the 2027 WNBA draft over the summer and has now spoken to Piers Morgan about the league and the ongoing transgender athlete debate.

When doing so, he suggested he could destroy the current NBA single-game scoring record, which is held by Wilt Chamberlain.

Morgan asked: “I mean just in pure cold hard reality if you were to play in the WNBA in an average game, how many points do you think you’d score?”

Kanter responded: “So, Wilt Chamberlain have this record, I’m sure you know about, is 100, 100 points [in] a game.

“I promise that, that is my goal, to beat that record. Like, there won’t be any record standing. I will literally destroy [it]. I mean, actually, it will help the WNBA because think about all the ticket sales and endorsements that they could get.”

To date, no player in the NBA or WNBA has managed to come that close to reaching that record.

The closest is Bam Adebayo, who secured 83 points in a Miami Heat vs Washington Wizards game in March 2026.

Meanwhile, Marina Mabrey, A’ja Wilson and Liz Cambage all currently share the record for most points in one WNBA game (53).
