Embassy in Tokyo opens its doors: BVB Fans get in the mood for the game

Pennants and flags point the way to the Yona Yona Beer Bar; once inside, everything glows in Black and Yellow. Numerous pennants decorate the room, which is packed to the very back corner with Borussians. Many had already arrived shortly after opening – and the crowd kept growing. More than 150 fans visited the fan hub in Tokyo to get in the mood for the game with food and drinks and to chat with one another.

You’re immersed in a babble of Japanese and German, but one thing unites everyone: their passion for Borussia Dortmund. One girl is wearing a jersey that reads, “I may not live in Dortmund, but my heart is Black and Yellow.”

Highlights of the afternoon include an autograph session with BVB Legends Patrick Owomoeyla, Roman Weidenfeller, and Jo-Hoo Park, as well as a raffle where prizes include current jerseys.

Carsten Cramer doesn’t want to miss out on a quick visit and greets the fans with “Konnichiwa.” The spokesperson for the BVB Board of Management is impressed: “More than 150 BVB fans are getting ready for the game in a small beer bar. I’m very proud and happy that you’re here. It’s great to have so many Black and Yellow ambassadors in Japan, but also to see so many German BVB fans here. I’m very happy that so many people around the world support us.”
