Naturally, it is the quarterbacks who receive the most hype, but questions still lie over Arch Manning actually declaring himself for the 2027 draft. The 22-year-old could opt to remain in college football for another year.

The young quarterback has only thrown seven touchdowns this season, but he has been able to lead the Texas Longhorns to a perfect 4-0 start.

Manning has become a real talking point this season as his surname has created a lot of buzz surrounding the family legacy he has to live up to. However, his uncle, Eli Manning, has now responded to the possibility of him remaining with the Longhorns for next season.

What Eli Manning thinks of Arch Manning declaring for 2027 NFL Draft

Fernando Mendoza has already set the example this season of the number one overall pick not necessarily becoming an instant success in the NFL. This is something that Manning will have to consider.

“The whole point of college is to enjoy being in college and to get better every year. It’s about opportunities to play more games, to get better, to get more prepared for the NFL, to try to win a national championship or an SEC championship, and to be a captain of the team. All those things were important to us,” said Eli.

Eli Manning responds over Arch Manning

“It’s not just about, “Hey, this is all about getting to the NFL and going to the next step.” No, it’s about enjoying your experience, enjoying your teammates, becoming a better player, becoming a better leader, and building something special with the guys that have all been there together. I’m proud of Arch and how he’s handled this and his mindset.”

A big decision lies ahead of Arch, but it is clear that there is no pressure being placed on him by his family members to declare for the upcoming draft. After all, a long season still remains ahead of him with the Longhorns.

It may be possible that Arch assesses his options following the conclusion of the college season. His performance over the coming months may well determine what he decides as the best next step for his career.
