Ekiti Govt dissolves okada riders’ executives, appoints caretaker committee

The Ekiti State Government has dissolved the executive council of the Okada Riders Association, Ekiti State Chapter, at all levels and appointed a 10-man caretaker committee to oversee its affairs.

The dissolution, which takes immediate effect, was announced following a recommendation by the Board of Trustees of the association.

In a statement signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. K.K. Ajobiewe, the government said the caretaker committee will be chaired by Kunle Asaolu.

Adelegan Olowuro Sunday will serve as Deputy Chairman, while Alade Gbenga will serve as Secretary.

Other members of the committee are Saka Salami, Ajibade Ojo, Ademola Omotuyi, Ayodeji Jegede, Lukman Saka, Joseph Emmanuel, Oloruntola Idowu, and Agboola Emmanuel.

According to the statement, the newly constituted committee will be inaugurated on Friday, September 25, 2026, at the Ministry of Transportation, Old Governor’s Office, Ado-Ekiti, by 10:00 a.m., pending further directives from the government.
